How/why did your business get started?

I water damaged my Onewheel Plus playing at the edge of a lake like they show in the ads. Luckily, I got it dried out and running, but the Bluetooth never worked again. I decided not to risk it a second time and opened up the board to waterproof it. I quickly started seeing a lot of interest from others who wanted to do the same thing, so I started providing the original Badger Kit in 2018.

What needs did you see in the community that were not being filled?

One of my guiding principles is to not just copy something else that’s already on the market, but to focus on products that didn’t already exist or provide new and improved functionality. With BadgerSense, we’ve answered an age-old question by giving riders the data they need to push the limits of both the board and their own mettle.

What makes your product different from similar products on the market?

Badgerwheel is focused on rugged, multi-functional products for extreme riding conditions.

For example, both the Tail Rails (a collaboration with FlightFins) and our classic X Rails feature reinforced inserts that make them much harder to strip than stock rails.

Our bumper brackets reposition the bolt away from the high wear point at the corner and allow bumpers to be replaced without disassembling the rest of the board.

The Badger Bite locks the inner hub bolts in place, solving a very common problem among people who ride hard.

And finally, the BadgerSense and BadgerSight HUD comprise a totally unique, first of its kind nosedive warning system that provides real-time visual data so you can send it harder with confidence. Plus, it doubles as a battery meter and triples as a speedometer.

Do you have any new/exciting projects in the pipeline? What are they and when can we expect them to be available?

The GT version of BadgerSense is on the way, and we’re working on a smart posi sensor for all models.
